Mold Inspection Process

1.CSI Mold Specialist will send a certified technician to perform a full mold inspection. They will collect information regarding your health, possible allergies, water damage, and the reason you suspect to have a mold problem.

2.Our technicians will perform a visual assessment by doing a walk through to determine possible areas of suspect growth. To determine possible water damage and source of moisture, our technicians use Infrared Thermography images to find the source of the your mold problem.
We will conduct black mold testing to find out the severity of your problem. Our technicians will also use moisture readers and air particle counters from both indoors and outdoors. The results will be available upon completion of your mold assessment as well as in your Mold Inspection Report.

3.The technicians will take swab and air samples. Microbial laboratory is used to analyze the presence of mold and the type of mold in premises. The swab sample will determine if mold is present on the surface; the type and severity of the mold species present; and the toxicity level of the mold; while the air sample (when used with an outdoor baseline sample for comparison) will determine if elevated levels of airborne mold spores are present throughout the air in your premises and if so, the type, severity and toxicity level of the mold spores as well.

4.The laboratory results and a full Mold Inspection Report takes 2-3 business days. The report will explain the inspector’s general findings and recommendations, It will also include all Infrared and Digital images taken during the mold inspection, along with a full explanation of all images. The report will also explain the remediation process necessary to remove the mold and any steps necessary to prevent the mold from reoccurring.

5.Once the report is sent to you, a representative will contact you to review your report, clarify the results of your mold inspection and provide recommendations on how you should proceed.

How Much Does Mold Inspection Cost?

A mold inspection consists of a qualified inspector coming to your residence and analyzing it for traces of mold growth. Often times, mold is easily spotted, like if it’s growing in the attic or permeating drywall.

Other times, however, mold-like substances may need to be tested to determine whether or not they are, in fact, mold. In the case where there’s no visible mold growth, inspectors may have to use specialty devices like IR cameras to help them detect where there’s the moisture that could lead to mold growth.

So how much does a mold inspection cost? Inspections usually range in price anywhere from $200 to $600.

What Effects the Cost of a Mold Inspection?

Cost is largely dependent on the size of the area being tested, how many samples need to be tested and what type of equipment needs to be used to locate and test the mold. The key is finding a reasonable mold inspection company with high credibility and simply asking them how much mold inspection costs.

If mold growth is obvious, it’s likely that no samples or testing would be required, thereby constituting a lower overall price.

Some companies that perform both mold inspection and remediation may even allow you to put the cost of the inspection toward the remediation cost as a means of incentive to use their company to perform the work.
